Statewide Human Trafficking in Maine: Identification and Response Training Curriculum

Maine's local multidisciplinary anti-trafficking teams offer "Human Trafficking in Maine: Identification and Response", which is victim-centered and empowerment-based training, and are interactive, skills-building sessions informed by Maine-based expertise and resources. MECASA has developed this statewide training in collaboration with the Anti-Trafficking Services at Preble Street  and the support of the Maine STEN Provider Council. The training, which is based on nationally-recognized best practices  is offered at no cost by trained social service and health care providers and law enforcement officers. Training content includes:
  • General human trafficking overview, featuring Maine-based data regarding prevalence, dynamics of trafficking, indicators, and best practice response (90 minutes);
  • An additional labor trafficking or sex trafficking module, which includes information specific to those topics (30 minutes each, in addition to the 90 minute overview).
